SummerQuest and the Extended School Year (ESY)

SummerQuest and the Extended School Year (ESY) program will take place at Fairview School beginning June 15 and ending July 2, 2010. Classes will be held from 9:00 a.m. – noon.

The SummerQuest program will be offered for students in kindergarten through seventh grade. Courses will be academically oriented and will provide remediation, review, and practice or enrichment. SummerQuest Voyager courses are designed to meet the needs of at-risk students who will be identified through building-based problem-solving teams. Students will be invited into the program by a separate letter to their parents.

The Extended School Year program will be offered to eligible students in preschool through seventh grade. Eligibility for the ESY program is determined by students’ IEP teams. Teams will finalize their decisions by March 29.

SummerQuest registration materials will be delivered to District 57 schools on March 29. The registration deadline is April 23. No registrations will be accepted after this date. This allows for more effective planning and placement of teachers. All SummerQuest classes will be closed as of April 23.
