It is an honor to be serving the District as the new Superintendent. District 57 is one of the finest public school systems in America. As a community and staff, we are proud of our tradition of educational excellence. Our students perform consistently well on state and national assessments. Besides academic performance, District 57 demonstrates excellence in other areas such as strong parent support, outstanding curriculum and support programs, high student attendance, a high-performing workforce, and sound financial status.

As we prepare for the new school year, the Administration and Board of Education are engaged in updating the District's strategic plan. Our strategic planning process helps us identify key objectives, challenges, goals, and action plans that guide our continuous improvement efforts. Once the strategic plan is revised, it will be made available to the community.

The District 57 mission is to ensure that all students achieve their full potential. To that end our schools are wonderful, exciting places for children to learn and grow, and our teachers, administrators, and support staff genuinely love the work they do.

In District 57 we welcome your support and interest. It is our hope that the information available to you on this Web site is informative and helpful. I look forward to getting to know the Mount Prospect community and working alongside all of you as we continue to make District 57 the best school district it can be. Enjoy the rest of the summer and I look forward to the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year with students returning on August 26.
