Question: How do we quantify if we are a high-performing district? With the reduction in gifted programming and increased class size, How do we monitor that all children are being adequately challenged and making adequate improvements year over year? The discussion seemed to address helping the lower performers pass the standardized tests but this does not address all students.

Response: We quantify by those data which provide us comparison information. Most specifically that is the information found on the IL School Report Card plus Explore scores and MAP data. We also used comparison data provided to us during the recent satisfaction survey. … The one example given during the Board discussion referenced an intervention medium called Compass Learning and it cited as an example of Response to Intervention (RTI). RTI is designed to monitor the needs of ALL students using multiple measures and interventions. RTI will continue to be actively used in all of our schools.”
